links I like

Books and Writing:

The Gutenberg Project - This is the best! It has a huge and growing collection, including some of my favourite books (for eg, Jerome K. Jerome - Three Men in a Boat, Three Men on the Bummel, hysterically funny). This lot are available as text files (or zip files) and can be downloaded and read on one's machine (as well as online, of course).

Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest - riotous!

Bartleby Library: Great Books Online - Aeschylus to Woolf, plus anthologies, plus poetry and non-fiction.

Classic Bookshelf - This one has an interesting interface if one wants to read online.

Myst and Riven

Cyan and RedOrb (which seems to have transmogrified into the LearningCo.com) - the makers of Myst and Riven.

Mike's Religion Page - comprehensive and useful for the lay reader interested in comparative religion. It has information on virtually every religion in the world, including Islam, Christianity, Judaism, Zoroastrianism, Hinduism and their off-shoots, presented in an objective manner, and with good links to top it all off.
